Our Challenge
Based on our previous successful works within Par 59 in Cardiff, S&G Air Conditioning Contracts Ltd were employed by Paramount to carry out the design and installation of new air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and domestic services to serve the new premises of Par 59 in Bristol city centre.
The entire first floor was to be taken by Par 59 located above other various bars and restaurants in a vibrant part of the city. The space was an empty shell that has been transformed into a fantastic venue.
Our Solution
Two new Midea VRF systems were installed to serve the entire first floor. The system consists of cassette fan coil units serving all play areas, bars and back of house rooms together with the outdoor units located at roof level. Heat recovery VRF systems were installed so that each zone had independent temperature control.
Mechanical ventilation was provided to the play areas and bars via Midea HRVUs together with all supply and extract ventilation ductwork to satisfy the anticipated high occupancy levels.
Additionally, a separate heat recovery air handling unit was installed at roof level to provide mechanical ventilation to all back of house areas. The AHU was complete with a DX coil and dedicated heat pump unit. Ductwork was installed within the dedicated risers.
A central controller was installed to control both the AC and ventilation systems.
Furthermore, separate dedicated kitchen ventilation systems were also installed including standalone supply fan and extract fan located at roof level. The system consisted of fire rated ductwork where required before connecting onto the specialist kitchen canopy.
The domestic hot and cold water services, together with above ground drainage pipework was installed. Hot water generation was provided by plant room electric boilers with storage cylinder, which feeds all WC facilities, the kitchen, the bar and cellar areas.
All of the air conditioning, ventilation and domestic services systems were commissioned and balanced upon completion.
