Our Solution

Prior to any works being carried out, we attended site to validate the existing VRF air conditioning systems and mechanical ventilation systems serving the office space. The operational status of the main plant was checked together with us measuring and recording the existing air flow rates being provided.

The existing Toshiba VRF systems were modified, including relocating the concealed ducted fan coil units and adding or extending the secondary ductwork arrangements so that all open plan spaces and cellular offices and meeting rooms had sufficient heating and cooling together with independent temperature control. New local controllers were installed in each room.

The existing mechanical ventilation system was adapted to suit the new layout including extending primary air ductwork branches to suit the new FCU locations and rooms.

New cross talk attenuators were installed in full height walls to ensure sufficient air flow was present in all rooms.

Additionally, a dedicated extract ventilation system was installed to the kitchen area.

New hot and cold water services plus above ground drainage pipework was installed to serve the new kitchen area sink and other appliances.

Upon completion, the systems were air balanced and commissioned to ensure the correct air flow rates are provided to each area. All areas had sufficient ventilation to satisfy Building Regulations following the layout changes.
